Fostering

On occasion we need a Kalkan animal cared for on a short terms basis. This might be following veterinary treatment, when cage rest is required for a street animal. It might be a temporary measure whilst a forever home is found. It can also be as stop gap between visitors from abroad agreeing to adopt and the actual process being completed.

Whatever the reason, our foster carers are invaluable to us, often taking on cats or dogs at very short notice. Fostering can be hard work but it so rewarding to see an animal you have cared for return to their “normal” life. There are now a couple of cages at the HQ so we can provide some care for sick cats or small dogs. If an animal is really poorly then they must stay in vet care. Fosterers are great for the animals that need to recover from an operation or need regular medication for a day or two or even a few weeks.

You can foster? The do let us know. Keep an eye open here on the website and by joining our Facebook group, Friends of KAPSA where urgent appeals for carers are posted.
