Kalkan Association for the Protection of Street Animals

We are a group of like-minded volunteers who care deeply about the health and well being of Kalkan’s street animals and wish to promote informed and compassionate action to improve the living conditions of all Kalkan’s animals.

Winter Feeding Programme

At this time of year, KAPSA has a network of local volunteers feeding and looking out for the health of as many of the street dogs and cats as possible. With no tourists around and few restaurants open, the animals need all the help they can get to survive the colder months. The cost of all this food has been sky rocketing for several winters now, while every year we are called on to help more & more local animals as cost of living issues bite. If you can make a small donation to help feed the cats & dogs over the coming months, we would be so grateful - you can contribute using the links in the main menu. Kapsa in Action

KAPSA works within the boundaries and guidelines of the Turkish law. We try to increase local awareness of, and compassion for the plight of the street animals, and to inspire and engage more local people to take part in, or at least understand our work. To do this our approach must be both innovative and culturally sensitive.

Adoption

We have dozens of cats and dogs in Kalkan that need good homes. Despite the work we do in the community to educate people about responsible ownership, we still get many dogs and cats dumped in Kalkan each year. If you would like to give an animal a home, have a look at our adoption pages, maybe you can find the perfect dog or cat for your home.

Donate

We rely totally on donations to fund our work with Kalkan street animals, which is why we have a number of ways for you to donate as well as various sponsorship programs. Donations of flea, tic & worming treatments, collars & leads and other practical items are very welcome, as are items for stalls & raffles at our various fetes.
